Vermont Pastel Society Juried Show
Southern Vermont College’s Laumeister Art Center presents the Vermont Pastel Society Juried Show now through November 17. Forty pastel paintings were selected by jurors Peter Seltzer and Doug Dawson from many images submitted. Award-winning artist Christine Labich will bring her discerning eye to the venue as the exhibition’s judge. Winners will be chosen from the following categories: Best in Show, Second Place, Third Place, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod Award, and Mallory Lake Memorial Prize.
The exhibit will showcase a wide range of work from several of the 100+ society member artists. The Vermont Pastel Society (VPS) was established by a group of artists in 1999 for the purpose to build and strengthen connections among pastel painters, to foster their artistic development, and to provide links to resources. To help reach those goals, the VPS sponsors an annual juried exhibition for its member artists.
General admission to Laumeister Art Center is $10 for adults; $5 for seniors, veterans, and AAA members; students and children are admitted free. The Center is open 10 a.m.to 5 p.m. daily and is located at 44 Gypsy Lane in Bennington, Vt., just 40 minutes from Troy, N.Y., and a half hour from Williamstown, Mass.
