Announcing Engaging Spring Classes
Southern Vermont College (SVC) will be offering a variety of interesting courses during the Spring 2017 semester that are beneficial for any learner. Led by professors who are masters of engaged learning, classes start Tuesday, January 17, on subjects in arts and music, the environment, healthcare, business, sports management, psychology, criminal justice, and politics.
High school juniors and seniors are encouraged to consider taking classes at a reduced rate or may qualify for two free courses through SVC’s Dual Enrollment options.
The Division of Business offerings include Accounting Fundamentals, Personal Financial Management, Marketing Fundamentals, Introduction to Sports Management, Sports Law, Introduction to Healthcare I and II, and Fundamentals of Academic Computing.
The Division of Humanities is offering Concepts of Visual Design; Art, Making, and Meaning; English Composition I and II; Grant Writing; Advanced Fiction Writing Workshop I; Advanced Playwriting Workshop I; Shakespeare; Women in Music; The Search for God; and American Sign Language II.
The Division of Science and Technology includes Environmental Issues, Introductory Algebra, Statistical Methods, Physical World, General Biology II (with lab), Anatomy and Physiology I and II (with lab), and Medical Microbiology (with lab).
The Division of Social Sciences will be offering Punishment and Corrections, Comparative Politics, Middle East Politics, Interviewing Skills and Case Management, Family Violence, Human Behavior in Social Environments, Individual and Group Interventions, Introduction to Psychology; Child Growth and Development, Chemical Dependency, Ethics for Helping Professionals, Biologic Basis of Behavior, and Sociology.
