Ghost Hunters Dustin PariSouthern Vermont College’s (SVC’s) Everett Mansion was investigated by the popular SyFy Channel’s paranormal sleuths, the “Ghost Hunters,” and with the program scheduled to air at the end of the month, SVC has invited cast member Dustin Pari to talk about his experience at the College Thursday, October 29, on campus. The public is invited to hear Pari’s presentation at 6 p.m. in the Everett Theatre.

The paranormal investigation of SVC by the Ghost Hunters, titled “Darker Learning,” was taped in the summer of 2014 and is part of the new season this fall. In this episode, tentatively scheduled to air on the Wednesday, October 28, just before Halloween, co-creator of TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) Jason Hawes and the TAPS team investigate the legends surrounding the Everett Mansion at the pinnacle of the College campus.

The Everett Estate has been the subject of other paranormal investigators and journals, including books by Vermont author Joseph Citro. The Ghost Hunters investigation at SVC came to be after SVC alumna Leigh Meola ’11 contacted the SyFy program while she was a student on campus several years ago and shared her personal paranormal encounters. In 2014, the executive producer contacted her with an interest in investigating the history and stories at Southern Vermont College. Meola was invited to be part of the program when the cast and production crew converged on campus that summer. “Under contract with the studio, I cannot share any of their findings until the show airs,” Meola said. “But I can’t wait to have everyone see what I was lucky enough to experience!”

Meola, now a nurse at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, will join cast member Dustin Pari at the College event on October 29, which is free and open to the public. Pari has worked with Jason Hawes and the members of TAPS team for more than ten years, investigating paranormal activity in places near and far. Pari, born and raised in Rhode Island, is also a motivational speaker and the COO of a surgical practice based in New England. Pari has co-authored two books with Barry FitzGerald titled “So My Home is Haunted…Now What?” in 2012 and “The Complete Approach-The Scientific and Metaphysical Guide to The Paranormal” in 2009.
