Radiologic Sciences Students Present Updated Study of Imaging Exams at VSRT Conference
Recently, seniors from the Radiologic Sciences program at Southern Vermont College were invited to present a video they created on Image Gently, Image Wisely, entitled “Rads,” at the Vermont Society of Radiologic Technologists Conference in Rutland. Image Gently, Image Wisely is an awareness program started by the American College of Radiology, American Society of North America, American Association of Physicists in Medicine, American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the Society for Pediatric Radiology. The students’ video emphasized the importance of identifying opportunities for elimination of unnecessary imaging exams and lowering the amount of radiation used in necessary imaging exams. They also stressed the importance of raising awareness in the imaging community of the need to adjust radiation doses when imaging children.
