Double Major: Criminal Justice and Psychology
Class of 2019

Vanessa Kendall ’19

What is your major and intended career path?
My major is Criminal Justice and Psychology, and I intend to follow a career path with the FBI.

What factors helped you choose Southern Vermont College?
The views, the opportunity, and my dad is an alumni.

How would you describe your academic experience?
I have had so much support from peers and faculty with academics.  I have never excelled in academics until coming to SVC and becoming a Criminal Justice and Psychology double major.

Can you share a memorable experience?
I have had many memorable experiences, whether hiking the trails on campus and visiting the caves, fun events with peers and faculty, and sports events. There are too many to choose from!

Are there any notable accomplishments that you would like to share?
I have received awards for athletics and academic acknowledgments. I am currently Vice President for two clubs, a campus ambassador, and a dual sport athlete!  I have two leadership roles on both athletic teams I play for.

What advice would you give to an incoming student?
My advice to incoming students is to be active on campus. Attend events whether they’re sports events or the hypnotist visiting campus, be involved, and try new things. Meet new people, create new connections with people; you will be amazed at some of the new things you will experience here at SVC.  We are truly a unique college!
