What is your major and intended career path?
I am a Nursing major, and I intend to become a registered nurse. Eventually I want to go back to school to get my master’s degree and become a nurse practitioner.

What factors helped you choose Southern Vermont College?
The factors that helped me choose Southern Vermont College were the location, small class sizes, and the devotion professors give to students. The campus is small, yet beautiful, especially during the foliage season. SVC has a little bit of everything.

How would you describe your academic experience?
The academics are great here. This is my second college and the one that professors show the most dedication to their education and students. They always do their best to make sure that you will succeed. The classroom sizes are small which is great, because I get the one-on-one attention that I need to understand the material. These are the aspects that help me excel here at SVC.

Can you share a memorable experience?
My most memorable experience at Southern Vermont College would be the first ever White Coat Ceremony for our school. The White Coat Ceremony is an induction into your first year as a Nursing student. It was a great experience and gave me the satisfaction and motivation to reach my goal.

Are there any notable accomplishments that you would like to share?
My most notable accomplishment would be getting inducted into the Nursing program during the White Coat Ceremony. It was an honor that I was grateful to accept. It was a proud moment for my family as well as myself.

What advice would you give to an incoming student?
The advice that I would give to an incoming freshman would be to use your resources here at SVC. They offer faculty tutoring, student tutoring, a Center for Teaching and Learning (most commonly referred to as the CTL), and several others. They are there to help you and will do everything they can to make sure that you understand the content.
