Leticia Moya

Earlier this year, Leticia won two scholarships: The Emma Bowen Foundation for students who are studying communications and NYWICI (New York Women In Communications). Through the Emma Bowen Foundation she was able to intern for Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm in West Soho for ten weeks and for the next three summers. As for the NYWICI scholarship, she was awarded the Esperenza Award for Latin women in the communications field; the award itself was $5,000 toward her college tuition. From this experience, she was able to network with the most successful women in the city such as Coca-Cola’s marketing president, Wendy Clark, and much more!

"I have future aspirations to become a film director in videography. After I graduate, I plan on obtaining my master's degree in film and traveling to all kinds of exotic places in the world." Currently Leticia works on SVC's digital publication, The Looking Glass, in which she produces and writes her own skits for the entertainment sector.

Best Part of Being at SVC

Leticia appreciates the small size of Southern Vermont College. "From a cognitive standpoint, scaling back class size is good because it offers intimate class settings and personal relationships between you and your professor."

Advice for Future Students

My advice to future SVC students is simply and gracefully, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” – Winston Churchill.
