As Vice President for Enrollment Management, Dan Summers leads the Admissions team, Registrar’s Office and Office of Institutional Research at Southern Vermont College (SVC). He has worked at SVC since 2009. Summers has also worked in various facets of higher education throughout his career, including as an Interim Residential Life Coordinator at Williams College, Coordinator of Student Activities at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), his alma mater, and as a teacher at Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School in Massachusetts.
Summers was selected to participate in the College Board’s Enrollment Leadership Academy, a cohort of admission and financial aid professionals who work to identify the issues, challenges and solutions for the benefit of all enrollment leaders. He is also an active member of MCLA’s Alumni Board of Directors where he serves as the Vice President. Summers has also presented at several national and regional conferences.
Summers graduated from vocational high school and then became the first in his family to go to college when he began classes at MCLA. He graduated from MCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
He is a member of the Consortium of Vermont Colleges, New England Association for College Admissions Counseling and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
