Event: NASA Scientist Talk
Event Date/Time: May 5, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT
NASA Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Daniel Angerhausen will discuss the detection of the chemical composition of alien atmospheres at Southern Vermont College (SVC) on Thursday, May 5. At 5:30 p.m. in Everett Mansion Theatre. Dr. Angerhausen’s lecture, “Sniffng Alien Atmospheres,” demonstrates how the light from distant stars gives details on the planets orbiting those stars and how various observatories on the ground, in the air, and in space are searching the galaxy for the chemical signatures of life. The talk, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by SVC Professor Jeffery Thompson’s Life in the Universe and Astrobiology classes.
For more information on Dr. Angerhausen’s lecture at SVC, contact Professor Thompson at 802-447-6389 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
