Literary Criticism 4 credits
This course emphasizes the study of theory and the actual practice of literary criticism. Students will survey major critical theories and movements in Western literature, and gain practice in using various critical methods on a variety of literary works. The goal is for each student to arrive at a recognition and articulation of his/her own preferred critical method and to put that method into practice via a major project. Prerequisite: Successful completion of En102 or En150 or approval of Division Chair.
