Laura Myers-Paligo ’80 received her Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from Towson University on May 20, 2009.
Denise Welch Land ’97 celebrated Easter with husband Chad and daughters Jadyn (age 4) and Makayla (age 1). Jadyn picked gorgeous dresses for her and for her sister.
Chad Levesque ’98 has been promoted to Assistant General Manager and Director of Baseball Operations for the Holyoke Blue Sox of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. He will be in charge of all day-to-day baseball operations for the Blue Sox, helping players get acclimated to their new surroundings and ensuring that the proper equipment is available for the team and its staff. He will continue to serve as an assistant coach, a position that he has held for the past two seasons.
Levesque is a police officer in Chicopee, Mass., and also serves as an assistant coach at American International College in Springfield, Mass., where he is the team’s lead recruiter and academic advisor. He is also working on his MBA in Sports Administration & Management and hopes to transition to a career in professional sports or at college level as coach and athletic director.
Lawrence Higgins ’00 will retire in August after 32 years with the Dalton, Mass., Police Department and is moving to Cape Cod.
Jody Schade ’00 is performing in Oldcastle Theatre Company’s production of Ferenc Molnar’s “One Two Three,” adapted by Morwyn Brebner, at the Bennington Center for the Arts this summer. Jody will play a secretary named Miss Petrovich in the one-act play and says, “Even the cast members couldn’t stop laughing during rehearsal.” Jody is currently an adjunct faculty member in The Hunter Division of Humanities at SVC.
Stef Arteaga ’07 is working as an account executive for One Communications and interning at MTV Networks.
Sandy Marks ’07 has returned to Vermont after living in Colorado and has been accepted into the JD program at Vermont Law School.
Peter J. Richard Jr. ’07 represented the University of Maine School of Law as co-chair of the Student Litigation Society and of the American Association for Justice (formerly Association of Trial Lawyers of America) student mock trial competition in Providence, R.I., in February 2009.
Amanda Shea ’08 will begin an MBA program at the College of St. Rose this fall.
Weddings & Engagements
Meghan L. Cipperly ’07 is engaged to Tyler P. Thompson. Meghan received an associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology and in 2008 earned her certification in ultrasonography from Hudson Valley Community College. She is currently employed as an ultrasound technologist at Glens Falls Hospital.
Amber Bouplon is engaged to Joshua Driscoll. Amber is a 1997 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School in Bennington and attended SVC. She is branch manager at Citi-Financial. Joshua is a 1999 graduate of Hoosick Falls Central School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He is a window installer for AEP in Hoosick Falls, N.Y.
