High School: I went to Achimota High School in Accra, Ghana. My parents wanted me to grow up in Ghana before moving to the United States. I went to Achimota for the first two years of high school and completed my last two years in Baltimore.

Through SVC’s Build the Enterprise program, Junior Isaac Ola spent most of fall semester in the coastal city of Qingdao, China, interning at Qingdao Law Firm, arguably one of the biggest law firms in the Province. “I helped them conduct research into the American legal system and research into the Legal System of countries in the Western Hemisphere in general,” Isaac who hails from Ghana originally but lives in Maryland, said. “I also had to do weekly presentations on select topics chosen by the partners and lawyers in the law firm.”

In Qingdao, Isaac stayed with a Chinese host family which helped him fully immerse himself into the Chinese culture and way of life. “It was a small family with no kids,” he said, “and the family made it a point to make me comfortable in every way they could.” Isaac found the country to be fascinating and the people to be incredibly friendly. “I enjoyed my time there, and I will definitely repeat the experience."
